The weather was hot and breezy for the contestants of the 2006 Mr. Bass tournament. It will be a day that Doug Sullivan and Ken Sorensen will not forget.  After a full day on the water, Doug Sullivan of the Poor Boys' Bass Club and Ken Sorensen of the Fremont Bassmasters were tied for 1st place with 10.76 lbs each.  It was the first time there's ever been a tie for first place in a Nebraska B.A.S.S. Federation tournament. Big fish determined the winner and title of Mr. Bass for 2006.  Doug's big fish was 4.36 lbs and Ken's weighed in at 3.96 lbs. Overall big bass went to Dave McCoy of the River City Bass Club with a 4.44 lbs. bass. Congratulations to Doug Sullivan - Mr. Bass 2006.

Pat Klausen of the Fort Kearney Bassmasters wins the 2006 State Tournament at Table Rock Lake, MO. Pat had a total of 28.66 lbs. edging out Richard Manthey of the Sarpy County Bassmasters who took a close second with 28.04 lbs. Shawn Holly of the Hidden Valley Bassmasters finished 3rd overall with 27.88 lbs. Congratulations to Pat Klausen, 2006 State Tournament Champion.

Only three clubs had a combined weight over 100 lbs. Plum Creek Bass Club finished first with 109.32 lbs., Sarpy County Bassmasters finished second with 106.76 lbs., and Big 8 Bassin' came in 3rd with 101.58 lbs. Six of the eight members of the Plum Creek Bass Club had total weights over 13 lbs. with Jim Kelly topping the list with 22.40 lbs. and Rick Sitzman catching a total of 21.46 lbs. Congratulations to the Plum Creek Bass Club - 2006 State Tournament team champions.
