April 26th - 30th, 2009 - Lake of the Ozarks, MO

 

Doug Borer of the Blue Valley Bass Club Wins State Tournament

State Tournament - Lake of the Ozarks, MO

 

     On the third and final day of the state tournament, Doug Borer of the Blue Valley Bass Club brought in a five bass bag totaling 14.78 lbs. to win the tournament.  Doug finished the tournament with 47.38 lbs. beating Kenny Wasmund by only  2/10 of a pound.  Kenny finished in second place with 47.18 lbs. and a five bass bag totaling 10.66 lbs.  Duane Hanzlik also of the Blue Valley Bass Club finished in third with a three day total of 42.08 lbs.

     F.U.N. Bassmasters won first place in the club standings with 184.20 lbs. from 72 bass, Blue Valley Bass Club was second with 181.76 lbs. and Big Eight Bassin' finished third with 178.52 lbs.

     Overall big bass honors went to Nick Ash of the Midwest Bass Anglers with a 6.78 lbs. bass from day three.  Gill Monif of the Sarpy County Bassmasters caught the big bass on day one with 6.13 lbs bass and Dick Manthey also of the Sarpy County club caught the big bass on day two with a 6.20 lbs. bass.

Risewick Wins Central Regional Tournament

Nebraska Team Takes First Place in the Overall Team Competition!

B.A.S.S. Federation Nation Central Regional Tournament

June 22nd - 26th, 2009 - Greers Ferry, AR

Day 3 - June 26th, 2009

 

Rich Risewick of the Milligan Bass Anglers and the Nebraska B.A.S.S. Federation won the 2009 Central Regional Tournament.  Rich was in 2nd after the first day and dropped to 3rd on the second day.  On the third day he brought in 4 bass weighing 7 lbs. 14 oz. to leap into first place overall.  He had a three day total of 11 bass weighing 23 lbs. 12 oz.  Rich edged out Mark Warner from Kansas, who finished in 2nd overall with 22 lbs. 15 oz. and Jason Baird of Kansas, who finished 3rd overall with 21 lbs. 4 oz.

This was Rich's first divisional tournament and won the tournament as a non-boater.  Rich now qualifies for the BASS Federation Nation Championship that will be held on October 25-31 at the Harris Chain of Lakes in Tavares, FL.  Congratulations Rich and good luck this fall in Florida!

The Nebraska team won the overall team competition with an impressive total of 165 lbs. and 14 oz.... 23 lbs. more than the second place Kansas team.  Seven of Nebraska's twelve anglers finished in the top 26. Winning the team competition earned the Nebraska B.A.S.S. Federation an impressive prize of a $30,000 Skeeter bass boat rigged with a Yamaha motor.

Central Regional Tournament Day 2 - June 25th, 2009

 

Nebraska stays on top after day two with a total weight of 109 lbs. 4 oz.  Three other state teams are in 2nd, 3rd and 4th with weights between 84 lbs. 7 oz. and 84 lbs. 1 oz.  Nebraska's lead going into the last day of competition is over 24 lbs.  Rich Risewick still leads the Nebraska team with 15 lbs and 14 oz. and is in 3rd place overall.  Nebraska has 8 guys in the overall top 24!

Central Regional Tournament Day 1 - June 24th, 2009

 

Nebraska tops the team standings with 50 lbs. 6 oz. after the first day of the 2009 Central Regional Tournament.  Rich Risewick (shown left) of the Milligan Bass Anglers tops the Nebraska team with 5 bass weighing in at 11 lbs. 4 oz.  and sits in 2nd place overall, only 7 oz. behind his day one partner, Daniel Stark of the Missouri Bass Federation.

2009 NBF Open Tournament

September 19th & 20th, 2009

Pat Klausen & Shawn Holly teamed up to win the 2009 Nebraska BASS Federation Open Tournament on Lake Okoboji, IA.  They caught 7 bass weighing in at 15.12 lbs.  Kent Priel & Kelly Bailey finished in 2nd place with 4 bass weighing a total of 11.26 lbs. and Romas Zaliuskas & Dale Burriell finished a close 3rd with 5 bass weighing 10.54 lbs.

There were 22 teams present catching a total of 63 bass weighing a total of 145.54 lbs.  More photos are available in the photo gallery.
